Moto comes with a very small and affordable smartphone with an elegant performance called Moto G4. It is one of the entry level smartphones. Now let’s get into the detailed review of this cute smartphone. This smartphone comes with a combination of Lenovo technology so here is one interesting piece to discuss.
Moto G4 looks good with flagship design you always see in Motorola devices. Its design is plastic curved edges and the back side is smooth. To the sides comes the metal band. Easy to use with one hand. The bezels are large sized. The display is a 5.5 inches IPS screen. To the right side of the device, you can see the power button and volume rockers.
At the top, you can see a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB charging port at the bottom. With the Moto branding at the back, front there is a three capacitive buttons on the lower panel .If you remove the back panel you can see the 3000mAh battery and dual sim card slot and expandable micro SD card slot.
It has dimensions of 153 x 76.6 x 9.8 mm and weighs around 155 grams. Available in black and white colors. The stereo speaker comes at the back side of the device.
Moto G4 comes with a 5.5 inch IPS touch screen. It consists of resolution 1080 x 1920 pixels. Displaying around 16m colors. Its display is a multi-capacitive touch screen. The display looks bright and cute with its size.
The screen to body ratio of the device is 71.2%. The pixel density of the device is 401ppi. The device is protected with a Corning Gorilla glass 3. The brightness and the accurate color gamut is really impressive.
Moto G4is a dual sim mobile, it works on Android OS, v6.0.1 marshmallow. It is powered by an Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) processor. The device is boosted by a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 chipset and a GPU of Adreno 405. It has an internal memory of 16/32MB and RAM of 2GB.
The expandable memory provided up to 256GB.Having primary camera of 13MP, f/2.0 with autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, stereo speakers are given. Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS options are available. The front camera is a 5MP, f/2.2, and auto-HDR. Accelerometer, gyro sensors are present.
The camera features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and auto-HDR. It has 3000mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery which provides the good backup facility. It has dual sim support. This is a 4G smartphone.
The G4 is powered by a snapdragon chipset and the clock speed haven’t changed when comparing to the G4 plus. There are 16 and 32 gig variants are available. The difference is that the both variants will only get a 2 GB RAM. In India, we are getting only a 16GB variant. The display of the device looks quite good and vibrant the color reproduction is very good and it is made of IPS technology. The touch feels very smooth and responsive.
It comes with few Motorola apps which are very useful. We get the new camera interface as well. The camera settings can be changed easily. Now the G4 is priced at 12500/- Rs for the 16 gig variant. The pricing seems sensible at what I get. But given that the G$ is awesome. However, I’m afraid there is a heating issue in this phone. The design looks very good and the build quality is also strong. The camera is also very good and the picture quality is ok. The front camera provides good video calling and selfies.
Coming to the gaming review we will start with the dead trigger 2, it has a smooth gameplay and the device is very good on games. The fps is very smooth. The Modern Combat remains stable and there is no lag. The G4 does a decent job with the Asphalt 8. The gameplay is mostly smooth. The overall gaming experience is quite good. The Geek benchmark score of the device is 709 on the single core and multi-core 3109. The quadrant benchmark score is 25147 and Antutu score is 45162. At these class smartphones, you cannot get such a good device. It has enough battery backup which gives a day back up.
The performance of the device is ok. The user interface is also very good and simple. The call connectivity is also good. There are no call droppings seen. The overall performance is very good and if you are willing to put few more bucks you can get a G4 plus which has a fingerprint sensor and a 16MP camera which is very good. But with the price provided the device looks awesome and works perfectly. The heating issues didn’t seem a very big problem. The android version running 6.01 is perfectly good and running faster.
There are no problems regarding opening and closing of the applications on the device. The two A53 processor works jet speed. The device feels very fluid. The device shuts down in only 15 seconds when we opt for. But power on takes a little bit more time. While starting we have a Lenovo sign flipping on the screen. Going through the whole device is buttery smooth ad going through the settings menu and all that this is pretty much stock android.
I can really open a lot of apps in just a minute. The device is very fast. Multi-tasking is really amazing on this device. Wow, such a wonderful smartphone at just Rs.13k I liked it. This is a perfectly fine smartphone to buy.
