LG has always been right there at the top along with Samsung when it comes to television business. Both these South-Korean competitors are always trying to one-up each other in the race to the top. Both of them are at the forefront of new innovations in display technology. The consumer is the ultimate beneficiary in this rivalry. LG TV’s has now come up with the LG OLED77W7T which is an ultra-premium UHD Smart television with a display size of 77 inch and a 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution.
It also packs in a 4.2 channel speaker system for the ultimate audio experience. It also features Active HDR with Dolby Vision and 4K Upscaling to deliver the best in picture quality. The LG OLED77W7T 77 inch 4K OLED TV is available at a price of Rs. 29,43,990/- in India. Let us take a closer look at this ultra-premium television in the following review.
The LG OLED77W7T is a flat-panel television with a 77” OLED display. The entire television is packed into a frame that is just 5.96mm thick. To put things in perspective, it is more or less the width of a regular pencil. To fit all the display enhancement technologies in a frame so thin, is the pinnacle of engineering and LG has to be really appreciated for achieving this. There is no table-top sand for this television due to its extreme thinness. It can only be mounted on a wall or a flat surface like a picture frame.
It features following IO on the edges of the television. 4 HDMI Ports (HDCP 2.2), 3 USB Ports, 1 RF In (Antenna / Cable), 1 Composite In, 1 Ethernet Port, 1 Optical Port and 1 RS-232 (Mini Jack). The LG OLED77W7T 77 inch 4K OLED TV ships with a soundbar that features upward-firing speakers and the subwoofer in one unit. This soundbar complements the television perfectly with its premium looks that belong in a futuristic movie. The LG OLED77W7T weighs in at 18.5kg and the AIO soundbar weighs 13.1kg. The design review of this television makes it to be an ultra-thin design which belies the powerful performance.
The LG OLED77W7T sports a 77” UHD OLED display TV. It is a gorgeous display, which merges into its frame when the television is off. The colours are well-saturated and the blacks are as deep as they are going to get. It is the first television to have support for both, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Unlike other regular HDRs, the LG OLED77W7T 4K OLED TV supports premium HDR content mastered by Dolby Vision and is also compatible with generic HDR10 as well as HLG.
LG’s Active HDR technology optimizes HDR picture scene-by-scene for a true-to-life viewing experience. It is forgone conclusion of this display’s review that the LG OLED77W7T has probably the best display available in a television today.
Its ultra-thin design is the main draw of the LG OLED77W7T 77 inch 4K OLED TV. But that doesn’t mean that it lacks in the performance department. It is powered by webOS which is a simple, yet intuitive OS. Between them, the webOS and the Magic Remote open up a limitless world of premium content from all of the most-popular entertainment providers. The security manager in webOS is certified by UL Cybersecurity Assurance Program (CAP2900-1). It prevents the installation of unauthorized applications and hacking.
The speaker system on this television is a 4.2 channel system which outputs at 60W with support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Atmos Decoder. It features the OLED Surround Mode along with Hi-Fi Audio and Wireless Sound Sync. It also supports Wi-Fi Direct with built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard. Additionally, it supports IP Control and Simplink (HDMI CEC)

The LG OLED77W7T 77 inch 4K OLED TV just breezes through this review and emerges with flying colours. Literally. The deep saturation of the colours against the deep blacks of the OLED display propels the display quality to the proverbial stratosphere in the television world. The 4.2 channel surround sound with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Fi Audio churn out incomparable audio output which complements the display quite well.
The only detriment to the sales of the LG OLED77W7T is the ridiculously high price. But taking into account, the craftsmanship and the bouquet of technologies powering this television, even at this high price, it gives tremendous value for the buyer’s money.
