Lava launched a new smartphone bearing dual-SIM slots called Lava A59, The Lava A59 was one of the low-end smartphones from the company this year. Lava has been excelling in the world of budget smartphones ever since it is launched.
The Lava A59 has the curved corners with good build quality but the design feels mostly familiar as you find in low-end smartphones. The right panel houses the volume rocker and the power button. The buttons are giving good tactile feedback.
The device weighs around 155grams which is heavy for a 4.5-inch display. On top we have the 3.5mm audio jack and USB port on the top, there is a VGA front-facing camera and LED flash are located above the display and three capacitive buttons are below the display.
The back panel is covered with 5MP camera with LED flash and Lava branding are located on the back cover. The dimensions of the device are 134 x 66 x 9.3 mm.
You get a 4.5” TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a 480 x 854 pixels resolution that roughly translates to ~218ppi. The screen to body ratio of the device is 63.1%. Colors look good and punchy with good saturation levels as this is a TFT display. Viewing angles are average but sufficient.
The smartphone has 4.5” TFT screen, with 1.3 GHz quad-Core processor. It features a VGA front camera and a 5MP rear snapper combined with LED flash. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB memory space which can be expanded via a memory card to 32GB.
The rear camera supports 1080p video recording and features Geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, Photo Timer, Grid. The Lava A59s has been launch in the colors Black, White.
The Lava A59s offers 3G connectivity. It is fuelled by a 1750mAh Li-polymer battery. Accelerometer sensor is available. Comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, and FM radio.
As we already know that the TFT screen delivers better image quality and like usual this display also delivers better images. With the TFT screen, you get better readability and easier access. The Lava is powered by an exclusive quad-core processor giving its best results. Coming to the camera performance the image quality is very good in almost all lighting conditions and the front camera is just a VGA camera which is of not much use. Surprisingly the VGA camera is combined with the LED flash which is again just for the paper, in real time it is just a waste and I could expect it so why place it.
The camera performance is enough at matches the price range. The device has got a 512MB which seemed too low to even run a Lollipop version. It has 1750mAh power battery it gives around 8 hours or a day of battery life on moderate to minimal use. It does have a power saving mode which could help preserve the battery further. The design doesn’t feel that great as it is a basic type smartphone. It comes with the smart screenshot feature. Gesture modes are provided making the UI feel better than the regular stock android. But however, t is close to stock android.
The display looks good and bright, but the device is a latest low end phone for the name sake and bearing mostly older specs and some newly added features. However the device manages to work well and push harder. This device is available with the price tag of Rs.4990/- in India.
