Coolpad Note 5 is very good in overall look and feel with its sleek design. The body design is unibody and built with metal. The phone doesn’t feel heavy even it has a big display. The mobile is fairly comfortable to hold in one hand. It is provided with a fingerprint sensor which is really amazing. The back panel has a smooth finish which is also metal with very nice texture. The display is a 2.5D curved glass.
The back is slightly curved so that it is easier to hold and you get a better grip. You get an 8MP front facing the camera. It looks like a premium mobile. The build quality of the device is good enough. The back has a really nice finish with Coolpad Logo. Front there is a camera with LED flash on the top panel of the mobile.
The 3.5mm audio jack at the top. At the back, there is a primary camera with LED flash. The charging slot at the bottom. The power and volume keys are conveniently resided on the right and left sides. At the left side, you can see a sim card hybrid tray. At the back, the panel is non-removable. Available in Royal Gold, Space Gray colors. Below the camera, there is a fingerprint sensor which is very easily reachable. Its dimensions are 152 x 75.7 x 8.85mm
Coolpad Note 5 has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with multi-touch capacitive touch screen. It has an FHD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is made of IPS panel technology. With a screen to body ratio of ~78% with a pixel density of ~401ppi.Displaying around 16M colors.
It is protected with Scratch-resistant glass. It has Cool UI 8.0. This is a 2.5D curved glass. The display has good viewing angles. It is a vivid display. The color reproduction is nice and didn’t face any touch related issues. You can use the display in outdoor but the display is slightly reflective in nature.
Coolpad Note 5 is powered by wonderful specifications. It is a 5.5-inch display. It is a dual sim mobile. The device is stuffed by powerful Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.0 GHz Cortex-A53). It runs on Android OS, v6.0. It comes with the chipset of Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 and GPU Adreno 405.
Consisting of 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory and expandable memory is available up to 64GB. It consists of features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama. Having primary camera of 13MP f/2.2, autofocus, LED flash and 6-piece lens, f/2.2 aperture. And recording video at 1080p@30fps. Extraordinary 8MP secondary camera 8 MP, f/2.2 with LED flash. Coming to the performance and hardware. Out of 4GB RAM, there is a free space of 2.5GB. The device scores 46752 in the Antutu benchmark which is a good score. We didn’t face any issues while opening or closing the apps. Multi-tasking is fluid on this phone.
You can even play high-end games. It is able to play Modern combat 3 and Asphalt 8 on the phone without any issues. Surprisingly with the Snapdragon 617 chipset, there is no heating issue. However, the Snapdragon 617 chipset is not very powerful but works quite well with the Coolpad Note 3.You can play games for long durations without any issue. So overall coolpad Note 5 is a powerful smartphone.
The device especially comes with a dual app feature where you can install an app twice like WhatsApp and run with two different numbers. Interms of Software the phone has good UI. It is stable and smooth. And had a lot of customization feature when compared to stock android. The fingerprint sensor on the phone works really well. The audio is decent in terms of overall loudness but this is not the louder speakers we have seen in this phone.
Let's talk about the camera, it has 13MP back camera along with the LED flash. And an 8MP front facing camera. There is a flash for the front camera for getting bright selfies. The camera interface is simple and regular.
The front camera works really well. You can capture good quality selfies comparing to other mobiles because of the flash. Color reproduction in the images is also nice.
Coolpad Note 5 is an elegantly designed device available in the market. It has an excellent performance. The Coolpad’s camera is good at the price segment. The performance is outrageous. It is available at a price tag of Rs 8,999/-
