ZTE is a mobile phone manufacturer based out of China and specialize in making premium-looking smart phones at affordable prices. The ZTE Blade A2 Plus is an ideal example of that strategy. The phone is built out of metal, has a fingerprint scanner, a huge battery and dual microphones for enhanced call clarity. It runs on an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It supports 4G networks and supports VOLTE for excellent call quality. The ZTE Blade A2 Plus is available at a price of Rs. 11,999/- in online stores. Let us dive in deeper to have a detailed review of this phone.
The ZTE Blade A2 Plus features a sturdy unibody metal build. It has chamfered edges on the metal frame running around the entire phone. The back of the phone is made of metal with two textured plastic sections at the top and bottom to enable the antennas to catch signal. The square camera cut-out is ringed by a raised Meta ring which is a lovely design accent that makes the camera stand out literally. The 13.0-megapixel PDAF camera protrudes out a bit from the body. Below the camera is the dual-tone LED flash.
And finally, there’s the fingerprint scanner, which, like the camera is placed in a square cut-out. Over at the front, the 5.5” full HD display commands attention. The earpiece sits at the centre above the display and is flanked by the sensors on the right and the 8.0-megapixel camera on the left. Below the screen are the three touch-capacitive Android navigation buttons.
The ZTE Blade A2 Plus features a 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which gives it a pixel-density of 401 PPI. The display is nice and sharp with well-saturated colours. This display is not as bright as some of the displays out there. All-in-all it is a very good display with good colour saturation, good contrast and excellent viewing angles. But the display collects a lot of fingerprints and fingerprint oils making it appear oily and smudgy.
The ZTE Blade A2 sports a 13.0-megapixel primary camera which is supported by a dual-LED, dual-tone flash. The primary camera supports PDAF system of auto-focusing for faster focusing speeds. The phone also features Panorama, HDR, Face Detection and Geo-tagging. The clicked images are well-lit but the colours appear a bit muted. The front camera is an 8.0-megapixel fixed focus camera. This camera uses screen light as flash for well-lit selfies in any lighting conditions. Overall this combination of high resolution cameras is a treat to use.
The ZTE Blade A2 is powered by the MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and supported by the Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The chipset is supported by 4GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage. This can be increased up to 256GB via the hybrid slot. This phone supports 4G and VOLTE on SIM 1 and 3G speeds on SIM 2. The SIM 2 slot accepts either two SIM cards or one SIM and one memory card, at a time.

The non-removable, 5000mAh Li-Ion battery powers the phone for a talk-time of 24 hours. With this huge battery capacity, the ZTE Blade A2 Plus also acts a reverse charger by charging other devices via the OTG cable. This phone supports fast charging and the fast charger is included in the box. Sadly, there are no earphones bundled with this phone. It has FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
