Zen Mobiles is an Indian brand of smartphones who have made it their mission to “develop and deliver most innovative mobility products that contribute to every citizen’s growth and establishes a competitive advantage for the brand and enhances profitability”. The Zen Admire Metal is a part of that effort. The back panel is made from real metal.
It runs on a quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz and supported by 1GB RAM. It runs up to 4G speeds and supports Indian 4G bands. The Zen Admire Metal is available at a price of Rs. 5390/- in online stores. Let us take a closer look at this phone through this review.
The Zen Admire Metal is partially made out of metal. The edges of the phone are curved in order to help with the grip. The back panel is made of metal and is easily removable. The top and bottom parts of the back panel are finished in matte look while the rest of the panel is painted to look like brushed metal. The 5.0-megapixel camera sits in a square cut-out. The LED flash sits just below the camera. There is Zen branding near the bottom part. The loudspeaker grill is a wide slit made in the back panel and covered with a chrome mesh. The power button and the volume rocker are located on the right edge of the phone.
Over at the front, all the attention is hogged by the 5.0” HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which gives it a pixel density of 294 PPI. The earpiece sits above the display and is flanked by the array of sensors and the 5.0-megapixel selfie-camera along with its flash. The three capacitive Android navigation buttons are located below the display. These are not backlit. The Zen Admire Metal stands up rather well to the scrutiny of the design review.
The Zen Admire Metal sports a 5.0” HD LCD display which outputs at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which gives it a pixel density of 294 PPI. The display is plenty sharp and quite bright, featuring well-saturated colours. It is quite reflective, which slightly affects the outdoor visibility. All-in-all, this is a beautiful display to be included at this price point.
The primary camera on the Zen Admire Metal is a 5.0-megapixel camera which is supported by a LED flash. The photos taken in daylight or under ideal shooting conditions turn out quite nice and clean. Low-light pictures are not as impressive as the daylight pictures. The 5.0-megaoixel resolution captures the decent amount of details. The LED flash helps in some situations, but not all of them. The selfie camera is also 5.0-megapixels and comes with a selfie flash of its own. It certainly helps with the selfies under any light conditions.
The Zen Admire Metal runs on a quad-core processor running at 1.3 GHz. It is ably supported by 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 32GB via the dedicated microSD card slot which is always a welcome addition to any phone, especially when both the cameras on this phone sport a 5.0-megapixel resolution. The 1GB RAM is barely enough to keep this phone functioning smoothly in day-to-day tasks.
The Zen Admire Metal supports dual-SIM card setup. The first SIM supports speeds up to 4G, while on the second SIM they are restricted to 2G. The 2500mAh Li-ion battery powers the phone for a long time. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth, WI-Fi and GPS via AGPS. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
