Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is the latest edition from the Samsung J series. The device comes with a very good 13Mp camera and an octa-core processor. The device runs on v6.0 marshmallow on the box. In this review, we are going to give a detailed briefing about the performance, features, specifications, design, and camera.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime comes with corning gorilla glass and a 2.5D curved glass. The device comes with a fingerprint sensor which is missing in all other J series phones. The device comes with a unibody design. We do have two touch capacitive buttons on the sides of the fingerprint sensor which don’t really light up. The phone looks very thin. It looks like a very premium phone because it has a complete metal construction.
The build quality of the device is good enough. There is steel chrome running around the device which looks very beautiful. At the top comes the 8MP Front camera and the earpiece at the center and had some sensors. We do have LED notification lights on the top this time. Moving to the bottom, there is a 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, and a micro USB port.In my opinion, Samsung has done a good job of moving the speaker from the back side to the right side, so that when you keep it on the table, it will get a little bit louder and preventing muffling sounds.Overall the buttons are really clicky and tactile and don’t really have any complaint.
At the right side, you can see a sim card tray as well as an SD card tray. The SD card slot is a dedicated one which accepts up to 256GB external memory. At the back, the panel is non-removable. On the top, it has a corning gorilla glass and a 2.5D curved glass which has nice addition. We don’t really have a bloatware applications preinstalled apart from Microsoft Google and their own Samsung Applications which are preinstalled on the device.
The device runs Android v6.0 out of the box. You get around 10GB free internal storage of given 16GB. And out of that 3GB RAM, you get around 1.5GB RAM free space. The speaker is a little bit better when compared to J series previous additions. The overall viewing angles and display seems to be pretty good.
The device also supports OTG and you can access all your files from your OTG pen drive that is nice. Talking about the benchmark scorings the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime scored around 46544 and the previous version Samsung Galaxy J7 scored 45468 which is pretty close.
The focusing seems to be pretty good. The shutter speed is really fast and that is a nice thing. The picture looks pretty good. The front facing camera seems good. It comes with many modes such as auto, panorama, HDR, Pro, continuous shot HDR, Night mode, beauty face, Sports and sound, and shot. You can also change the ISO, brightness and contrast settings manually.
The rear camera shoots 1080p videos and no 4K video recording. The focusing seems quite good in this device. The overall video quality is also pretty good in my opinion. The video quality is good. There is no optical image stabilization.
The colors are very punchy. Overall I’m satisfied with the camera performance. Even if you try to zoom-in, you won’t really notice any noise. The HDR mode is really good. Even in the artificial lightening conditions the device works well. The J7 prime does a good job.
