The Celkon C108 is a phone reminding one of simpler times. Back when there were no smartphones and no social media craziness. It is a simple design with minimum to no learning curve required to operate this phone. The phone is completely black. The back panel comes off and gives access to the battery, dual SIMs, and the memory card slot. The back panel sports a glossy finish and carries the Celkon branding. The 1.3-megapixel camera and the LED flash are placed in a pill-shaped island which is a part of the phone. The back panel features a cut-out to accommodate it.
Over at the front, the 1.8” display sits on the top side. The earpiece sits above the display. There is no selfie camera here. Below the display is the two action buttons, the call receives and calls end buttons, the four-way navigation key, and the OK button. The OK button is big and has a thick black border. The keys are easy to press and have a very good tactile feel. Typing is a smooth experience on this keypad. Overall, the design review of this phone makes a neutral impression. There is nothing exciting in the design, but at its price point, the design makes a lot of sense.
The Celkon C108 sports a 1.8” display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels which gives it a density of 114 PPI. The display is bright and colourful. Colours are well saturated, but the display is not too sharp. The display is bright enough to be viewed outdoors with no issues.
There is only one camera on the Celkon C108 and it has a 1.3-megapixel resolution. It shoots images at 1280 x 1024 pixels, in addition to shooting videos. The photos clicked in daylight under ideal lighting conditions come out clear and well-lit. This camera sports a single-LED flash. Photos clicked in low-light or even at evening time are slightly better when the flash is used. This camera is strictly ok for some casual spur-of-the-moment shooting. Overall, the camera quality is okay and not the selling point of this phone.
The Celkon C108 is a phone made for calling. It has good call quality. It has no smart features like Wi-Fi, video calling and neither does it support 3G. But they are not required on a phone that has a 1.8” screen with no touch support. The phone flies through everyday usage without any lags.
It packs in a decent 800mAh battery which powers the phone through the entire day’s usage. The phone also supports wireless FM radio. It also has an auto call record function which might prove handy for some users. The built-in storage the can be increased to 16GB via the microSD card slot.
