The smart wearables market is undergoing a change since the past few years. Smart wearables are the natural successors of mobile devices. The rate at which the technology is surging ahead, wearables will become the norm in the next few years. Almost all the major mobile manufacturers have their interpretation of a smart watch in the market today.
They are all packed with sensors and health monitoring tech in addition to offering the regular smartwatch features. Actually, they are powerful computing machines in their own way. But they need to be connected to a smartphone in order to perform their daily duties. There are a few exceptions though. The Beza LATEST is one of them. It takes in a SIM card and can function independently as a phone without needing to connect to a smartphone. It is available at a price of Rs. 985/- in online stores.
The Beza LATEST, with its square dial and the big square button on the lower part of the dial, looks very much like any other smart watched available in the market today. The square dial houses a square touch-screen display. The display is surrounded by black bezels and is framed by the silver dial. The black watch straps are made out of rubber and feature the classic buckle locking mechanism.
There is a single multi-function button located on the bottom part of the watch dial. At the opposite end, the top part of the dial resides the 2.0-megapixel camera. There is no flash here. There are a loudspeaker and a microphone on the back side of the watch which is used when receiving or making phone calls from the watch. Overall the watch feels well-built.
The Beza LATEST features a square touch-screen display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The colours are well-saturated. The display is bright enough to be visible outdoors on a bright sunny day.
The Beza LATEST features a 2.0-megapixel camera which does not have the support of a flash. It can also record video. But the quality is not so great. The 2.0-megapixel camera cannot resolve enough details. This is evident when viewing the clicked images on a bigger screen. The images are grainy and there is lots of motion blur which is the result of a slow shutter speed.
The Beza LATEST smart watch can initiate or accept a voice call from the watch itself. It is Bluetooth enabled. So, the calls happen through a connected Bluetooth headset as well. The phone has the loudspeaker and a microphone which enable direct calling from the smartwatch. It also features Bluetooth Dialer, Contacts, Call Reminder, Clock, Anti-loss, Pedometer, Sleep Monitor, Sedentary Reminder, and Calendar.
The storage can be expanded to up to 32 GB. The 380mAh battery gives a talk-time of 3 hours and 180 hours of standby time. It also packs in an audio recorder and FM radio. There is a slight lag in the interface while swiping around. completing an action. Swipes take at least a second to register.
